William J. Foley
I grew up in the forests and beaches of Southern Rhode Island. As a teenager I served as a firefighter through several major disasters and those experiences taught me the importance of leadership that is grounded in both compassion and competence. Standing next to my father as he commanded firefighters and watching my mother hand out water bottles to volunteers and survivors alike inspired me to study and then teach Servant Leadership.
After training as a Long Term Disaster Recovery Specialist I pivoted to education. For over a decade I've worked with communities to build resilient educational systems for at-risk students across diverse places such as Albuko Woreda, Ethiopia; Rural New Hampshire; Eastern Lebanon; and the Five Boroughs of New York City.
